Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) recognises learning experiences gained through life and work. The RPL process consists of marrying your current experience to a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment. How to Apply for RPL

Download the RPL Handbook that is either an Individual RPL Application (for 1 to 5 units of competency) or a full qualification.

The following RPL Applications are all Word 2010 documents (DOCX).

RPL Application for Diploma

RPL Application for Advanced Diploma

After you have downloaded the RPL form, complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the Personal Details section
  2. Select Units of Competency and Self Assessment (identifies the frequency that you perform these roles)
  3. Complete Authorising Officer details (refers to a company endorsed RPL application, leave blank if not required)
  4. Return to AIM via email (studentservices@aimqld.com.au) or post (PO Box 200 Spring Hill Qld 4004)

RPL Cost
The assessment fee for each unit of competency being assessed under RPL is $236.50 for AIM Members or $276.50 for non members.

Application Recognition Process

Once your application has been received by AIM and the payment processed, the Recognition Kit will be forwarded to you. Commence collating your evidence to the suggested examples provided. Note: suggested examples of evidence are only meant as a guide, open the link to see further examples of evidence.
